BURLINGAME, Calif. — Walter Fred Kopyscianski, 74, of Burlingame, Calif., passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013.

My soul mate, Ski left for the highway to heaven suddenly. Walter F. Kopyscianski, mentor, father, lover and grandfather. Married to Jude Kopyscianski for 51 loving years. He was a proud father to Kevin (Debbie), Jane and Jessica (Tom). He adored his six grandchildren Jessica, Nick, Mike, Amanda, Victoria and Alana.
Ski was in management for Safeway for 26 years.
He served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962.
He was born and educated in eastern Pennsylvania and lived in the Bay Area for 51 years.
Ski was a man that silently moved mountains, changing people's lives for the better. He was an avid hunter who hunted all over the United States and the world. He often visited the Pheasant Club with his son-in-law, Tom Blakiston. He will truly be missed.
He was born and raised in Atlas, a son of the late Walter and Olga (Macheski) Kopyscianski.
He was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
Survivors include a sister, Arlene Lubinski, and a sister-in-law, Rose Marie Kopyscianski.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Kopyscianski.
