SHAMOKIN — William D. Ebright, 75, of 304 S. Pearl St., died Thursday, Sept. 19. 2013, at his residence. He was in ill health for 10 years.

Born in Tharptown March 7, 1938, he was a son of the late Henry and Esther (Brady) Ebright.

He was a graduate of Coal Township High School class of 1955.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

William was married in Shamokin July 17, 1955, to the former Effie Wojciechowski, who survives at home.

He worked at Shamokin Shoe for 20 years and Paper Magic for 12 years.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by a daughter, Patty "Sissy" Long, of Shamokin; five sons, Joseph Ebright and wife, Carol, of Mount Carmel, Henry Ebright, of Shamokin, Douglas Ebright, at home in Shamokin, Frank Ebright, at home in Shamokin, and Daniel Ebright and wife, Stacy, of Clarksville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Ebright, and wife, Betty, of Tharptown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William Dean Ebright, on Oct. 3, 1996, and Kenneth "Harry" Ebright, on March 21, 2006.
