COAL TOWNSHIP — Austin D. James, 19, of 1735 W. Pine St., passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the residence of his grandparents, with whom he resided.
Born in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, June 27, 1993, he was a son of Denise N. (Wormald) Slotterback and Mark D. James.
He graduated from Southern Columbia Area High School in 2011.
Austin worked as a cook and delivery person at Pizza Hut, Shamokin.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially four-wheeling, camping, hunting and fishing.
Austin is survived by his loving family, including his father, Mark D. James, and his wife, Louise, of Coal Township; his mother, Denise N. Slotterback, and her husband, Mike, of Elysburg; two sisters, Cassandra James, of Coal Township, and Jessica James, of Coal Township; a brother, Tyler James, of Elysburg; maternal grandparents, Donald and Tanka Shuey, with whom he resided, and Richard and Barbara Wormald, of Ellenton, Fla.; maternal great-grandmother, Viola Snyder, of Shamokin; paternal grandparents, Lois and Thomas Herman, of Danville, and Florian and Kathy James, of Coal Township; paternal great-grandmothers, Lila Yoncoski, of Shamokin, and Mary L. Wert, of Irvine, Calif.; aunts; uncles and cousins; a best friend, Aaron Nye, of Coal Township, who was like a brother; numerous other friends, and his beloved dog, Pudgie.

JAMES — Austin D. James, 19, of 1735 W. Pine St., Coal Township. A funeral service and interment will be private for family members. Friends are invited to a visitation and viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township.
