BROOKHAVEN — Marie Rydzewski, 81, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at her home.

Born in Mount Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Zygmund and Verna Chmielewski. She was a long-time resident of Brookhaven.
She graduated from Mount Carmel High School.
Marie married Louis Rydzewski, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Pulaski Day Parade Committee, Our Lady of Charity Church and the Charitians.
She was totally devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and loved nothing more than spending time with them.
Surviving are her loving children, Thomas Rydzewski, and his wife, Jeanne, and Mary Lou Rydzewski; her grandchildren, Greg Rydzewski, and his wife, Kim, Paul Rydzewski, and Julie Fischer, and her husband, Ed, and a great-granddaughter, Grace Rydzewski.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Chimielewski.
RYDZEWSKI — Marie Rydzewski, 81, of Brookhaven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Divine Redeemer Church, 438 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel. Interment will be in Our Mother of Consolation Cemetery, Mount Carmel. The Bateman Funeral Home, Brookhaven, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
