Leonard M. "Pap" Lubold, 73, of Herndon died December 25, 2012 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Stitley) Lubold. The couple married November 15, 1959.

Born August 24, 1939 in Klingerstown, he was the son of the late Charles and Isabelle (Reiner) Lubold. He attended school at Klingerstown and served with the US Army but was honorably discharged due to medical reasons. He was employed as a farmer, having been employed first at East Malta Farms and last at Dunkleberger Farm in Paxinos. He was also employed at Danville Cabinets. He enjoyed doing various tasks around the house.
He was a member and attended Paxton Bible Church and its Sunday School. Leonard was a former member of the Klingerstown Fire Company and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Also surviving are four children; Leonard A. Lubold of Herndon, Joyce Schwartz of McAdoo, Richard Lubold and his companion Dawn Richie of New Castle, Virginia, and Esther Haupt of McAdoo; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Lubold; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six siblings, Margaret Hoffman, Mary Miller, Charlie, Marlin and Clair Lubold and Shirley Bobb.
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 28, at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown with Pastor Dan Lepley officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Northumberland Memorial Park.
