COAL TOWNSHIP — Ruth Fulladosa Hanson, 83, of 5489 Upper Road, Shamokin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, May 2, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Aurelio and Julia (Carrillo) Fulladosa.
She was a professor at the University of Georgia and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a niece, Rhoda "Ronee" Fulladosa Miner and her husband, William, of Shamokin; two great-nephews, Bill Miner and his wife, Janice, and their children, Michael and Nicholas, all of Elysburg, and Chad Miner and his wife, Amy, and their children, Lia and Zoe, all of Bellefonte; and a former husband, Bill Hanson, of Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fulladosa.
HANSON — Ruth Fulladosa Hanson, 83, of 5489 Upper Road, Shamokin. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, with Deacon Robert Mack officiating. Committal services will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library, 210 E. Independence St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
