ASHLAND — Alex Bovidge, 90, formerly of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Colonial Park Care Center, Harrisburg.

He was born in Ashland, Aug. 13, 1922, a son of the late Nicholas and Stella Bovidge.
He attended schools in Conyngham Township.
Alex was married to the former Jean Metzinger, who preceded him in death in 2006.
He operated the Ashland Motel Texaco Service Center for 32 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland.
Alex is survived by a son, John Bovidge and his wife, Susan, of Dauphin; a sister, Mary May, of Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren, Amanda Kutish, Michael Bovidge and Laurie Campbell; four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Alex, in 2005; a brother, Michael Metzinger, and a sister, Eva Metzinger.
BOVIDGE — Alex Bovidge, 90, formerly of Ashland. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland, with the Rev. David Grant officiating. Interment will be held at Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, 2400 Centre St., Ashland 17921. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.
