SHAMOKIN — James Rogers Booth, 84, of 3 S. Harding Ave., died 9:07 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Grandview Nursing Center, Danville.

He was born in Shamokin, April 10, 1929, a son of the late William O. and Mildred (Rogers) Booth.
He was a 1948 graduate of Shamokin High School.
James was married at Trinity Lutheran Church, June 20, 1958, to Nancy Schrawder, who survives at home.
He first worked as a printer for National Ticket Co., then as a radio announcer, and last as a customer service officer for the Guarantee Trust & Safe Deposit Co. and M&T Bank.
He attended Elysburg United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Shamokin Lodge 255 F&AM, Shamokin chapter, commandry, where he was past commander and past division commander, and the council where he was state chaplain. He received the order of the Red Cross of Constantine, and was an advisor to DeMolay and Rainbow Girls. He was also twice past president of Shamokin Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Cinder Pile Springs Hunting Camp.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by a brother-in-law, David Noll and his wife, Barbara, of Elysburg; a nephew, David Noll and his wife, Roseann, of Elysburg; six great-nieces and nephews, Marissa Noll, Bradley Noll, Elyse Noll and Calista Noll; a niece, Cathy Kroh and her husband, Dennis, of Paxinos, and a great-nephew, Aaron Kroh.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Noll.
BOOTH — James Rogers Booth, 84, of 3 S. Harding Ave., Shamokin. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, with the Rev. Michelle Beissel officiating. Burial will be at St. Peters' Blue Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. A Masonic service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. His family requests donations be made to Elysburg United Methodist Church, Center Street, Elysburg 17824.
