ARISTES — Mabel F. Friday, 88, formerly of Aristes, passed away at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.

She was born in Aristes, Sept. 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Harvey and Ethel Arlene (Fetterman) Minnier.
Mabel was a 1943 graduate of Conyngham Township High School.
Mabel was married to Clair Friday, who preceded her in death June 21, 2013. She and Clair were well-loved at Serenity Gardens by its staff and residents.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Aristes, where she had formerly sang in the choir, and was a member of the Ladies Aide Society. She also was a member of the Ashland Order of the Eastern Star and had been a worthy matron of the former Chrysanthemum Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mount Carmel.
She enjoyed quilting and loved baking and candy making.
She was well-known for her greeting, "Have a super duper day."
Surviving are her children, Larry Friday and his wife, Annette, of Wilmington, Del., Clair Friday Jr. and his wife, Hylah, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Brenda Friday and her partner, Nancy, of East Stroudsburg; grandchildren, Kristen Nicholson, Gwen Myers, AmyJo Murray and Beth Ann Friday, and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Aristes. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Willard A. Rothermel Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Aristes.
