Paul G. 'Pap' Foster, 85, of Wiconisco, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home in Wiconisco.

Born in Wiconisco, September 23, 1928, he was a son of the late Roy and Kate Tschoop Foster.

Paul was a proud United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, receiving the Distinguished Service Cross Medal, for extreme gallantry and risk of life in actual combat with an armed enemy force.

He retired as a mechanic with the National Guard, at Ft. Indiantown Gap.

He was of the Protestant faith; he was a social member of Wiconisco Fire Company and a thirty year member of the Short Mountain Conservation Club, Lykens.

He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Shiley Foster, 2009; He was also pre-deceased by brothers, Joseph, Elmer, Roy "Ed" and Charles Foster; sisters, Nellie Snyder, Joyce Mislyn and Katie Foster.

Surviving are his daughter, Sharon L. Shiley, Lykens; four grandchildren, Tina Kulp and Todd Kulp, both of Wiconisco, Tracy Sedesse, Tower City and Stacy Kulp, Lykens; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Kulp, Brandon and Stephen Sedesse and Laramie Oxendine; four sisters, Bessie McNeal, Tower City; Hope Mace, Elizabethville, Shirley Leshko, Wiconisco and Esther Machamer, Valley View; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Monday, April 14 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Burial with military honors was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
