SHAMOKIN — Joseph J. Leschinskie Sr., 64, of 518 E. Pine St., passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence.

He was born May 23, 1949, in Shamokin, a son of the late John and Anna (Mazur) Leschinskie.
On Aug. 24, 1974, in the former St. Edward's Church, Shamokin, he married Angela M. Skitroma, who survives.
He had been employed at Kennedy Van-Saun, of Danville, and Alumo Products, Mount Carmel, until his retirement.
He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin. Some of his happiest times were spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Natalia.
In addition to his wife, Angela, he is survived by two sons, Joseph J. Leschinskie Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Shamokin, and John A. Leschinskie and his fiance, Brytni Neidig, of Sunbury; a granddaughter, Natalia Leschinskie; a brother, Nicholas Leschinskie, of Trevorton Road; a sister, Dorothy Kern, of Coal Township, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Nairns.
LESCHINSKIE — Joseph J. Leschinskie Sr., 64, of 518 E. Pine St., Shamokin. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with a Franciscan friar from Mother Cabrini Parish presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin 17872.
