COAL TOWNSHIP — Jean Malinowski, 79, formerly of Lake Delton, Wis., passed away at 11:26 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 2050 Trevorton Road, where she had been a resident for the past four years.

She was born June 10, 1934, in Shamokin, to John and Mary (Bohaczyk) Wengrenovich.
She attended Shamokin High School.
For most of her life, Jean resided in Wisconsin. She was employed as a waitress in a Chicago restaurant.
Jean was married Feb. 14, 1979, in Norwich, Ill., just outside of Chicago, to Felix Malinowski, who preceded her in death.
Prior to her marriage, she was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Mount Carmel.
She is survived by a son, Anthony "Tony" Chiaculas, of Shamokin; a stepdaughter, Lynn Gierek and her husband, Chris, of Warrensville, Ill., two sisters, Shirley Latshaw, of Elysburg, and Joan Warren, of Shamokin; a granddaughter, Amanda Gierek, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Donna Malinowski.
MALINOWSKI — Jean Malinowski, 79, of 2050 Trevorton Rd., Coal Township. A viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday with a funeral service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, with a friar from Mother Cabrini Church officiating. Burial will be Friday, May 16, in Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg, Wis. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin.
