COAL TOWNSHIP — Mary E. Mikulanis, 88, formerly of 1170 Pulaski Ave., and a resident for the past six years at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the nursing facility.

She was born in Coal Township, May 26, 1925, a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Olszewski) Antas.

She was a lifelong resident of the Shamokin and Coal Township area.

Mary attended St. Stephen's Elementary School and Coal Township High School.

On Nov. 12, 1955, in St. Stephen Church, she married Joseph Mikulanis, who preceded her in death Aug. 8, 2012.

She was employed as a presser at Shroyer's Dress Company.

She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Church, now Mother Cabrini Church, and the Ladies Council of Catholic Women. She volunteered for many of the St. Stanislaus picnics and many other church events.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Mikulanis, of Northumberland; two stepdaughters, Joann Mikulanis, of Sunbury RD, and Carol Dawalt, of Bloomsburg; four stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Mikulanis, who died in 1968; two sisters, Edna Brokus and Helen Antas, and three brothers, John, Frank and Andrew.

MIKULANIS — Mary E. Mikulanis, 88, formerly of 1170 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, and a resident for the past six years at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. Burial will follow in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Coal Township. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, Leonard J. Lucas Jr., supervisor.
