ATLAS — John H. Artman, 71, of 523 West Girard St., died Friday, June 6, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Ashland on July 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Marlin and Eleanor (Klingerman) Artman. He had been a resident of Atlas since 1986.

He worked as a machinist for Wagner Industries in Frackville. In 1971 in Valley Forge he married the late Dorothy Robbins who preceded him in death in July, 1978.

John was a 1960 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans, VFW, and American Legion. He was of the protestant faith. He served with the US Navy from May 1960 to Feb. 1969.

Survivors include a son, John E. Artman and his wife, Tina, of Mount Carmel; two brothers, Harold Artman, of Harleysville, and James Artman, of Bethlehem; one sister, Bonnie Boyer, of Shamokin Dam; four grandchildren, Logan, Kayla, Zachary and Paige; two great grandchildren, Teagan and Carson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Artman.
