COAL TOWNSHIP—Beatrice Ellen Hoffa, 97, of 1044 W. Pine St., passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, after being hospitalized for 10 days.

She was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Peter and Hattie (Long) Rubendall.
She attended Coal Township schools.
On April 11, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md., she married Thomas G. Hoffa, who preceded her in death July 8, 1989.
She worked as a presser for the Arrow Shirt Company.
She was a member of the Seventh Street Primitive Methodist Church, the Ramblers and the Fairview Fire Company.
Surviving are a son, Thomas G. Hoffa Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Hampstead, Md.; two daughters, Janet Kelly and Judy Hoffa, both of Shamokin; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a special brother and sister-in-law, Robert Rubendall and his wife, Delores, of Schwenksville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Hoffa, on Nov. 13, 1973, and Charles Hoffa, on June 25, 2005; a daughter, Nancy Wondoloski, on Aug. 18, 2009; two brothers, Richard Rubendall and Charles Rubendall, and a sister, Dorothy Kroh.
HOFFA — Beatrice Ellen Hoffa, 97, of 1044 W. Pine St., Coal Township. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, with the Rev. Jean Eckrod officiating. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the
