Lewis G. Lucas, 69, of Main Street, Joliett, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Ashland, Jan. 2, 1945, he was a son of the late William and Verna Carl Lucas.

A graduate of Tri-Valley High School, he was a retired licensed practical nurse from Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Joliett Fire Company and Tower City American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Joseph and Harold Lucas; and four sisters, Marion Deeter, Pauline Carter, and Verna and Anna Mae Lucas.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene Maidenford Lucas; stepson, Stephen Smith, South Carolina; 13 siblings, Cindy Schnoke, Carol Ann Nelson, Jean Kroh, Janet Maidenford, Grace Madenford, and Robert and John Lucas, all of Joliett, Shirley Deeter, Betty Wolfgang and Henry Lucas, all of Hegins, Linda Morgan, Valley View, Barbra Basininski, Branchdale, and Jerry Lucas, Saint Clair; nieces and nephews.
