ELYSBURG — Robert L. Dluge Sr., 86, of Elysburg, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

He was born in Sunbury, a son of Samuel and Esther Dluge. He was a graduate of Shamokin High School and Dickinson Seminary/Lycoming College.
He was very civically and community oriented. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, a member and past president for 15 years of the Valley Gun and Country Club, of Elysburg, a former member and past president of the Elysburg Rotary Club and an orignator and original vice president of the Ralpho Township Planning Commission and the Northumberland County Planning Commission.
He was a Boy Scout leader, holding district and council positions, and was an Explorer adviser, a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and group leader of the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in 1965,
He was a member and past presiding officer of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Elysburg, and, for more than 40 years, he was a member of the Elysburg Masonic Lodge 349 and Caldwell Consistory, of Bloomsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Dluge; a son, Attorney Robert L. Dluge Jr. and his wife, Debra, three granddaughters, Dawn Aungst, Jennifer MacDonald and Stephanie Mason, and three great-granddaughters, Alexa, Lily and Jillian.
