MOUNT CARMEL - Helen Hudick McAndrew, 89, of 242 E. Center St., died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in the Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Shamokin State General Hospital June 17, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Zavotsky) Hudick.
She was married Jan. 25, 1947, in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, to Walter W. McAndrew, who preceded her in death April 30, 1992.
Helen worked at the former Victoria Theater in Mount Carmel, Mount Carmel Area High School and Furman's Cannery.
She was a 1944 graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
Helen was a lifelong member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, where she enjoyed donating her time for all church fundraising activities.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen "Sis" Danisevich and her husband, William, of Wilburton, Rosemary "Rosie" Goodeliunas and her husband, Peter, of Kulpmont, and Mary Snyder and her husband, Lewis, of Mount Carmel; four sons, William McAndrew, Walter McAndrew and his wife, Anne, John "Jay" McAndrew and Robert McAndrew and his wife, Tammy, all of Mount Carmel; 16 grandchildren, William McAndrew, Kelly Grabowski, Michelle Langton, Connor McAndrew, Angela Venna, Brian Danisevich, Denise Balliet, Pamela Pellowski, Megan McAndrew, Peter Goodeluinas, Heather Betsill, Jason Shutt, Christine Seidel, Patricia Shutt, Eric McAndrew and Brittany McAndrew; 24 great-grandchildren, a brother, Harry Hudick and his wife, Janet, of Mount Carmel Estates, and a sister, Dorothy Fallon and her husband, George, of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy McAndrew, a great-granddaughter, Marlee Rose, and a sister, Catherine "Kitty" Daya.
McANDREW - Helen Hudick McAndrew, 89, of 242 E. Center St., Mount Carmel. A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, with the Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with Parastas at 7 p.m., and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S.
