KULPMONT — Raymond E. Hodrick, 89, of 761 Scott St., Kulpmont, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for one week.

Born in Mount Carmel Aug. 30, 1924, he was a son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Sweeney) Hodrick. He has been a resident of Kulpmont for the past 50 years.
He worked as an account/office manager for Kuzo Brothers Ford Garage in Mount Carmel.
On Nov. 23, 1967, in St. Steven's Church, Shamokin, he married the former Victoria Pasternak, who survives.
Ray was a 1943 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School and also took business courses.
He was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as financial secretary for the past 25 years, all of Kulpmont. He enjoyed bowling for Mudry's Trucking Team.
Ray served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Victoria, he is survived by a brother-in-law, Walter Pasternak, of Coal Township, as well as nieces.
He was the last member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and James, and a sister, Anna Dembauskas.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Father Andrew Stahmer and the Rev. Raymond Orloski as concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Coal Township. A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening from with the Rosary at 8 p.m. and 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning in the C.J.
