MOUNT CARMEL — Anna J. "Sugar" Coffey, 74, formerly of Atlas, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Mount Carmel Senior Living Center.

Born at the Shamokin State Hospital, Oct. 9, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Edward T. and Isabelle B. (Woolridge) Shukitt.
Anna was a 1957 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. She was employed as a receptionist with the Social Security Administration from 1982 until her retirement.
She was a member of the Knights of Lithuania.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Andrew Stefanowicz, of Coal Township; 10 grandchildren, whom Anna adored, Sarah, in her fourth year at nursing school, Scott, a culinary professional in Bloomsburg, Brian, serving in the U.S. Navy, Conor, Clare, Theresa, Noelle, Natalie, Regina and Philip; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Ann, of Bloomsburg; three sisters, Florence Katch and her husband, Jack, of Mount Carmel, Marion Tentromono and her husband, John, of Wilmington, Del., and Christine Covaleski and her husband, Anthony, of Kulpmont; a brother, John Shukitt and his wife, Angie, of El Paso, Texas, and nieces and nephews.
