Edward G. Klinger Sr., 87, of Walnut Street, Williamstown, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born in Williamstown, Sept. 16, 1926, he was a son of the late Thomas and Marion Finley Klinger.

Ed was an Army veteran of World War II.

He retired as a heavy equipment mechanic at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville.

Ed was a member of Brethren in Christ Church, Tremont, Williamstown American Legion and Liberty Hose Company No. 1, Williamstown.

He was a former Little League coach with the Williamstown Youth Athletic Association.

His life revolved around his family, of whom he was very proud. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy L. Russel Klinger, in 1992.

Surviving are nine children, Edward Klinger Jr. and his wife, Sue, Karel Benscoter and her husband, Gary, David Klinger and his wife, Jane, all of Williamstown, Susan Hutchison and her husband, Charles, Lewisberry, Larry Klinger and his wife, Lesli Ann, Canada, Kathy Stence and her husband, Rick, Wanda Kocher and her husband, Chris, both of Elizabethville, Wendy McCready and her husband, Tom, Williamstown, and Daniel Klinger and his wife, LeeAnn, Delaware; a stepsister, Madeline Koppenhaver, Allentown; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, at Reigles Bible Fellowship Church, Berrysburg. Interment with military honors was in the Methodist Cemetery, Williamstown.
