SHAMOKIN — Margaret "Peggy" Smink, 78, of Shamokin, joined the Good Lord Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born Jan. 2, 1936, to the late Eleanor (Sabournie) Murdock, in Shamokin.
She married Daniel Smink, who survives, Aug. 18, 1956.
Peggy was a homemaker and loved being in her home. She also loved going to Donna's to get her hair done on a Saturday morning, then to the mall and for lunch. She also enjoyed going to bingo with her two daughters.
She was the best mom to her children, Tina Grow and her husband, Wayne, of Paxinos, Lori Novack and her late husband, Larry, of Shamokin, and Danny Smink and his girlfriend, Meghan, of Coal Township.
She also loved her grandchildren, who were her life, Jonathan Grow and his wife, Lindsay, of Maryland, Kristen Clouse and her husband, Tim, of Paxinos, Lyndsey McElwee and her husband, Ron, of Shamokin, Kortni Wormer and her husband, Ryan, of Virginia, Haley Novack and her boyfriend, Andy, and Nathan Smink and his girlfriend, Alaina, of Locust Gap.
Most of all, she was survived by her pride and joy, her great-grandsons, Brock Grow, Gavin and Jaxson Clouse and the soon-to-arrive, Crue McElwee.
Peggy was "Nana" or "Nanny" to so many children she watched, and loved each and every one of them. She will be truly missed by all and we have another "butterfly."
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by a sister, Millie Mowery, her brothers, Jack Murdock and his wife, Roxanne, and Ken Murdock and his wife, Rose Mary, all of Elysburg.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Murdock and his wife, Marilyn, a brother-in-law, Bob Mowery and her son-in-law, Larry Novack. They are our "butterflies" and we sadly miss each and every one of them.
