MARION HEIGHTS — Tonya M. Kehler, 29, of 139 E. North St., Marion Heights, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Ashland Jan. 20, 1985, she was a daughter of Harold and Donna (Ahrensfield) Kehler, of Atlas.

She was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was employed as an interpreter at Mt. Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School for the hearing impaired and a counselor for Keystone Human Resource Service autistic camp.

Tonya was a graduate of Mount Carmel Area Jr./Sr. High School with the Class of 2003. She attended Bloomsburg University from 2004 to 2008 and received a Bachelor of Arts in speech pathology. She continued her education at Bloomsburg University from 2008 to 2010, when she received her master's degree in early childhood education.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel. She liked to fish and camp. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. She loved spending time with her daughter and her dogs.

In addition to her parents, Harold and Donna, she is survived by her daughter, Aubree Bartholomew; her companion, Jonathan Bartholomew; maternal grandmother, Agnes Bianchi, of Atlas; many aunts, uncles and cousins, and her dogs, Lennox, Mercedes and Lola.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfathers, Harry Ahrensfield and Anthony Bianchi, as well as her paternal grandparents, Irvin and Catherine Kehler.

KEHLER — Tonya M. Kehler, 29, of 139 E. North St., Marion Heights. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation with the family will be held from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning with a prayer service at 10 a.m. in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Aubree Bartholomew Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 50 W. Third St., Mount Carmel 17851.
