Floyd W. Hafer, 81, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Exeter Township, July 8, 1933, he was a son of the late Mahlon and Arlene Merkle Hafer.

He was the husband of Joyce Hoffman Hafer.

He was of the Protestant faith and he served in the Army as a sergeant in the Korean War.

He was formerly employed by UGI as a back hoe operator.

He was a member of the 20th Century Club.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Lewars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Bolick, widow of Daryl, Birdsboro, Kerrie Matz, wife of Richard, Schuylkill Haven, and Patricia Snyder, wife of David, Pine Grove; grandchildren, Megan Bolick, Lauren Grimes, Christine and Alexis Lewars; and five great-grandchildren, Kiyarah Feliciano, Hana Grimes, Matthew Nahodil, Devyn Luciano and Eliyannah Luciano.
