GORDON — Mary Lou Miller, 78, of Gordon, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at her residence.

She was born June 24, 1936, in Mowry, a daughter of the late Charles "Lee" and Rita (McAndrew) Reinoehl.

Mary Lou was educated in Helfenstein schools and was a 1954 graduate of Ashland High School.

During her formative years, she worked at a cigar factory and played softball in the state of Connecticut. Following graduation, she worked as a secretary for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

On Nov. 5, 1955, she was married to Leo "Ab" Miller, who preceded her in death.

For over 30 years, she worked as a seamstress and supervisor in various garment shops. After her retirement, Mary Lou's love of cooking led her to study at Schuylkill Technology Training Center in the culinary arts program, where she honed her cooking skills even further.

Mary Lou was a beloved member of her community.

She was compassionate, charismatic and fun loving. Even throughout her prolonged illness, her witty remarks were never in short supply.

Mary Lou is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Thomas Edwards, of Gordon, and Sandra and Joseph Saukaitis, of Mount Carmel Township. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her three grandsons, Chad Edwards, of Gordon, Steven Saukaitis and his wife, Melissa, of Mount Carmel, and Michael Saukaitis, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Anne Vilewinski, of Exeter, Claire Kramer, of Gowen City, and Agnes Smarr, of Lavelle; a brother, Raymond Reinoehl, of Mowry; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Gordon Miller, of Frackville; and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie, and a companion, William "Jigs" Wagner.

MILLER — Mary Lou Miller, 78, of Gordon. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, with the Rev. John C. Wallace officiating. Friends and family may call from 9 a.m. until time of the service in the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
