MOUNT CARMEL — Chester E. Roney, 68, of 40 S. Maple St., died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.

Born in Wilburton, April 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Rose (Chichon) Roney.

Chester was vice president of operations of C&R Luxri Bus, Saint Clair.

On Feb. 19, 1966, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, he married the former Kathryn Manley, who survives.

He was a 1964 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School.

Chester was an avid golfer. He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren to various sporting events and also attending their games. He was very active with Mount Carmel Little League Baseball. He was a former coach of the Maurer's Dairy and the Loyal Order of Moose baseball teams.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Kathryn, are three daughters, Rhonda Timmins and her companion, Leonard Zlocki, of Marion Heights, Kathleen deManincor and her husband, Jason, of Mount Carmel, and Christine Roney, of Mount Carmel; two sons, Michael Roney, of Mount Carmel, and Mark Roney and his fiancee, Marcia Tomaszewski, of Pittston; five grandchildren, Jason Marinelli, Antonia Timmins, Kaleb Roney, Emily and Nicholas deManincor; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Bridget Johnson; a brother, Henry Roney, of Kulpmont; a sister, Esther Stoberski and her husband, Rudy, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph J. Roney Jr.
