Nancy Persing Obituary

MIDDLETOWN — Nancy J. Persing, 78, of 370 Cypress St., entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Elysburg on Dec. 19, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Richard Hoffman.

She was retired from the state Department of Labor and Industry.

She was a member of Elysburg Presbyterian Church.

Nancy enjoyed reading and bird watching, and loved turtles.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon J. Christie, with whom she lived, and Susan R. Tokarcik and husband Larry of Severn, Md.; a son, John H. Persing and wife Linda of Warrensburg, Mo.; five grandchildren, Brian and Lisa Tokarcik of Severn, John Persing Jr. of Warrensburg, Mo., and Megan and Ian Christie of Middletown.

PERSING — Nancy J. Persing, 78, of 370 Cypress St., Middletown. Memorial services and inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be sent to Elysburg Presbyterian Church, 320 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg 17824, or to the American Diabetes Association, 3455 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg 17101. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown, has charge of arrangements.
