COAL TOWNSHIP — Mary Ann Wheary, 65, of 53 N. Berry St., passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, in Shamokin Area Community Hospital. She had been ill for the past few years.

Born on Dec. 2, 1944, in Shamokin Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Chuba) Yadlosky.

Mary Ann was a 1962 graduate of Coal Township High School.

On Jan. 8, 1966, in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin, she married Robert A. Wheary Sr., who survives.

She worked for many years at the Arrow Shirt Company in both Shamokin and Elysburg, and was also employed with the staff at Shamokin Diagnostic Center and Dr. Jeffrey Greco.

She was a member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church in Shamokin and its Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and St. Anna's Society.

Mary Ann was an avid bowler before her illness and served as secretary for many of the leagues she was involved in.

She loved spending time with her family, playing games on the computer and watching the Philadelphia Phillies.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children and their spouses, Francis and Michelle Yadlosky, Perryville, Md., Ann and Walt Tym, Shamokin, and Robert Jr. and Stacie Wheary, Coal Township; two grandchildren, Brianna and Braden Yadlosky; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Anna Mae Yadlosky, Coal Township; two sisters-in-law, Margie Yadlosky, Ranshaw, and Marcy Schwartz, Leesport, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Walter.

WHEARY — Mary Ann Wheary, 65, of 53 N. Berry St., Coal Township. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 227 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, with the Rev. Stepan Bilyk officiating. Burial will be in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. with Parastas at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 227 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin 17872, or VNA Health Systems, 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin 17872.
