Lloyd A. Wetzel, 78, of Pitman died Thursday, Jan. 13, at his home.

Born January 25, 1932 in Pitman, he was a son of the late Allen A. and Carrie (Gahres) Wetzel.
He attended Pitman area schools and was a farmer. He sold farm produce in Tremont, Hegins and Valley View for 50 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Congregational Church, the Mahantongo Fire Company, Woodmen of the World Lodge #433 all of Pitman, the Hegins Fire Co. and the Tower City Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Beatrice Kukuk.
Lloyd enjoyed fishing and playing euchre. He was a loving father and Pap and was proud to consider Beatrice's children his own.
Also surviving are three children, Bonnie Pietzsch and her husband, Carl, of North Carolina, Susan Fly and her husband, Walt, of Hummelstown, and Steven Wetzel of York Haven; Beatrice's seven children, George Kukuk and his wife, Jeanette, of Ashland, Faye Orser of Lewisburg, Irene Grady and her husband, William, of Girardville, Kathryn Schreiber and her husband, Dale, of Pitman, Judy Conner and her husband, Richard, of Pitman, Donna Scully and her husband, Thomas, of Locust Dale, and Lincoln Kukuk and his companion, Heidi Price, of Mt. Carmel; a sister, Alma Shaffer and her husband, Benjamin, of Dalmatia; a brother, Donald Wetzel, and his wife, Mabel, of Wiconisco; 17 grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Irvin, Charles, Arthur, Paul L., Elmer E. "Tiny", Franklin, and John Wetzel and Beatrice's daughter, Joyce Troutman.
Funeral services will be private with burial in St. Paul's E.C. Cemetery, Pitman.
