BERWICK — Britney R. Tongel, 17, of South Vine Street, concluded her journey in this life on Wednesday morning, Feb. 16, 2011, at her temporary residence in Trevorton.

She was born Aug. 26, 1993, in Rhinebeck, N.Y., a daughter of David Tongel and Carey Torres, Berwick.

She was a sophomore at Line Mountain High School, where she was a cheerleader. When she was a student at Berwick High School, she was on the track, cross country and basketball teams. She loved photography.

In addition to her parents, Britney is survived by her brothers and sisters, Courtney Tongel, Anthony Torres, Tyler Tongel, Jordan Tongel, Dominick Tongel and Rickey Sorce Jr., all of Berwick; her maternal grandmother, Marguerita Nimlo, of Berwick; her aunt, Jennifer Knorr and husband, Gary, and their children, Logan and Lucas Knorr, all of Berwick.

She is also survived by her foster parents, Terry and Lisa Laforme, whom she lived with in Trevorton.

TONGEL — Britney R. Tongel, 17, of South Vine Street, Berwick, and Trevorton. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Heller Funeral Home, 633 Third St., Nescopeck. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heller Funeral Home, 633 Third St., Nescopeck, 18635, to help with funeral expenses.
