SHAMOKIN — Carol E. Heintzelman, 67, of 129 Heintzelman Road, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at her residence. She was in ill health the past year.

Born in Shamokin June 23, 1944, she was raised by her late grandparents, Gordon and Emma Staments.

Carol lived most of her life in West Cameron. She was a graduate of Coal Township High School.

On Sept. 5, 1964, in Salem United Church of Christ, Coal Township, she was married to Russell E. Heintzelman, who survives.

Carol was last employed as a LPN at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She retired in 2008.

Carol was an active member of Salem UCC, where she served on church council and helped with many church functions.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Russell Heintzelman Jr., of West Cameron, and Kevin Heintzelman and his wife, Kelly, of Trevorton; four grandchildren, Amanda Flynn, Russell Heintzelman III, Kylee Heintzelman and Kourtney Heintzelman; three great-grandchildren, Blake Heintzelman, Makenzie Flynn and Tyler Flynn; a sister, Cheryl Reddinger, of Elysburg; two brothers, Robert Starr, of Lewisberry, and James Starr, of Littleton, N.H.

HEINTZELMAN — Carol E. Heintzelman, 67, of 129 Heintzelman Road, Shamokin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Salem United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jean Eckrod officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol's memory to Salem United Church of Christ, 1300 W. Pine St., Coal Township, PA 17866. Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, Trevorton, has charge of arrangements.
