MANHEIM — The Rev. Donald I. Martin, 96, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.

Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Ira and Edna Martin.
Donald was married in 1940 to his high school sweetheart, Esther Sprecher. They were happily married for 58 years until her death in 1999. In 2002, he married Jeanette Hershey, who survives.
He was a minister from 1941 to 1974, and served at Grace Chapel in Shamokin for 16 years. While there, he was active with Youth for Christ, and started a Christian day school. From 1974 to 1980, he worked with the Narramore Christian Foundation, headquartered in Arcadia, Calif. In 1980, he and Mrs. Martin founded Family Life Crusades, an organization dedicated to the values of marriage and family.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jeanette, he is survived by three daughters, Judy Thomas, of King of Prussia, Sharon Wilson, of Exton, and Marilyn Darity, of Kinzer, a son, Donald Martin, of Chicago; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Donald at 3 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, Pa., 17545.
