MOUNT CARMEL — Joan M. Todisco, 70, of 452 W. Third St., passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born June 8, 1942, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Tullio and Stella (Moratelli) Marinelli.

She was a 1960 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School.

She was employed as the deputy warden at the Northumberland County Prison until her retirement. She was also a former co-owner of Tullio's Beverages, Mount Carmel.

Joan was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, where she volunteered a lot of her time. She also worked as a volunteer on the Meals on Wheels program. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Todisco and his wife, Christine, of North Wales, Robert Todisco, of Mount Carmel, and Michael Todisco and his wife, Kira, of Orange County, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kirstie, Kimberly and Arik; her longtime companion, Leonard Slodysko, of Coal Township; a brother, Robert Marinelli, of Den-Mar Gardens, and several nieces and nephews.

TODISCO — Joan M. Todisco, 70, of 452 W. Third St., Mount Carmel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. John Szada officiating. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Viewing will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School, 2001 Clinton Ave., Coal Township 17866, or Divine Redeemer Church, 438 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel 17851.
