MOUNT CARMEL — Ida E. Frank, 97, of 32 N. Maple St., passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

She was born in Gordon in 1915, a granddaughter of the late Mrs. R.C. Dornsife, formerly of Gordon, and with whom she spent her childhood.
She was a graduate of Ashland High School and later attained an associate degree in interior decorating.
In 1937, in Grace Lutheran Church, she married John K. Frank Sr. Together they enjoyed a happy marriage of 52 years until his death in 1990.
She was a Girl Scout leader, and she previously managed a craft shop. She was past president of Mount Carmel Women's Club.
She had worked for some time as a seamstress for the former Schroyer's Dress Factory, Shamokin.
For eight years, she and her husband were foster parents to a resident of the Selinsgrove State School.
She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Carmel.
Surviving are her devoted son, John K. Frank and his wife, Nancy, of Lake Ariel; a grandson, John K. Frank III and his wife, Lou Ann, of Shavertown; a granddaughter, Christa High and her husband, Robert, of Berwyn; a great-grandson, Shane Frank; and her caregivers, Sherry Shustack, Helen Evans, Roxanne Mabe and Tina.
FRANK — Ida E. Frank, 97, of 32 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Willard Rothermel Funeral Home, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Peter Kuebler officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Ray Rothermel, supervisor.
