COAL TOWNSHIP — Blair Faust, 89, of 1536 W. Fern St., died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his residence after a short illness.

Born in Shamokin, March 9, 1924, he was a son of the late Blair W. and Anna (Hine) Faust.

He attended Coal Township schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

On June 15, 1944, in Salem United Church of Christ, Coal Township, he married the former Anna O'Leary, who survives.

He worked as a coal miner for 28 years and last worked as foreman for Coal Township street department.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ.

An avid hunter and beagler, he was a member of Union Beagle Club, Lewisburg, a life member of Fairview Gun Club and Elysburg Gun Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Anna, are two sons, Blair J. Faust and his wife, Linda, of Coal Township, and Michael Faust and his wife, Bobbie, of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Blair B. Faust and his wife, Margaret, of Irish Valley, Brenda Snyder and her husband, Ben, of Augustaville, Michael B. Faust, of Northumberland, and Kellyann Crissman and her husband, Marc, of Seven Points; 10 great-grandchildren, Blair D., Katie, Mallory, Maddy, Luke, Ellie, Donovan, Wyatt, Cage and Cydney; eight brothers and sisters, Betty Willis, of Coal Township, Hilda Militti, of Maryland, Anna Kramer, of Maryland, Lillian Faust, of Coal Township, Elizabeth Linderman, of Sunbury, Ben Faust, of Virginia, Edward Faust, of Coal Township, and William Faust, of West Cameron Township.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Weikel and Helen Pearson, and five brothers, Donald, James, Walter and Clinton Faust and Lewis Brown.

FAUST — Blair Faust, 89, of 1536 W. Fern St., Coal Township. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem United Church of Christ, 1300 W. Pine St., Coal Township, with the Rev. Jean Eckrod officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. There will be no hours of calling. The family requests donations to VNA Hospice, 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin, PA 17872. Farrow Funeral Directors, Shamokin, has charge of arrangements.
