SHREVEPORT, La. — Dennis Claude Miner, 65, of Shreveport, La., passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2013.

Born Oct. 2, 1947, in Kulpmont, Pa., he was a son of the late Claude and Theresa (Nagy) Miner.
He was married to the former Joanne Barron.
Dennis graduated from Edison, N.J., High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany and stateside.
He retired from the Shreveport Police Department after 25 years as a detective.
He was an avid fan of the Louisiana State University football team, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and landscaping. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, enjoying time spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary of the Pines Roman Catholic Church, Shreveport.
In addition to his wife, Joanne (Barron) Miner, he is survived by two sons, Dennis J. Miner and his wife, Heather, of Shreveport, and Michael D. Miner and his wife, Rebecca, of Torrence, Calif.; a daughter, Ashley Rene (Miner) Acres, of Shreveport; his grandchildren, Christian Grant Acres, Cameron Cooper and Cailyn Gibson, and two sisters, Patricia (Miner) Singer, of Toms River, N.J. and Geraldine Miner, of Piscataway, N.J.
