George William Blunt(1933 - 2017)

George William Blunt of Elk Grove, California died Monday, May 8, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Mount Dora, Florida, June 3, 1933 to Horace and Ann Blunt, George grew up in Mount Dora. He played football at Mount Dora High School and left school in his senior year with blessings from his father to join the Army. He served in Korea until the end of the war.
After the war he settled in the Los Angeles area where he met and married June Glasscock. Together they settled in the Whittier, California area and raised three children together. He enjoyed camping and travelling with family and friends.
He leaves his wife, Kay Scott Blunt, his daughters, Vickie Altman and Tracy Henley, his son, John Blunt, three grandchildren, Shannon Duran, Kristen Gradecki and Christopher Holmes and three great grandchildren, Savannah Mohlmaster, Audrey Hartmeister, and Gwendolyn Gradecki.
George was laid to rest with military honors alongside June, who passed in October 2008, at Riverside National Cemetery on May 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to The City of Hope at CityofHope.org
