Spyridon E. (Spiros) Moumouris

Spyridon (Spiros) E. Moumouris, 79, passed away on March 16, 2018 in Orange Park, FL. He was born in Kanakades Corfu, Greece on August 16, 1939, son of the late Efstathios and Maria Moumouris. He emigrated from Greece to Danielson, CT in 1966. Spiro owned Giant Pizza and Grinder Shop located on Westcott Road by the State Police Troop D Barracks. He moved to Clermont, Florida in 1987 and opened Spiro's Pizza Restaurant. In 1991, he moved to Orange City where he owned and operated The Original Stavros Pizza. Spiro was an avid golfer, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Sofia. 2 sons: Tom (Eleni) and Andy; daughter, Maria (Ron) Koury; and his brother, Thomas Moumouris; 2 sisters: Marina Perdikomatis and Stella Agathos; 5 grandchildren, who were the love of his life: Andrew Justin (AJ), Sophia, Spiro, Cameron and Sophia; and a host of beloved extended family. Visitation will be held 9-10:00 AM followed by Greek Orthodox Funeral Service at 10 AM at HARDAGE-GIDDENS CHAPEL HILLS FUNERAL HOME, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
