Arthur L. Bruhn

Arthur Lewis Bruhn, 87, of Fairbanks, died Sept. 4, 2013, at his home, peacefully in his sleep.
A memorial will be held
3 p.m. Saturday, Sept.14, 2013, at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fairbanks, 4448 Pikes Landing Road, Fairbanks 99709.
Art was born July 11, 1926, in Stanton, Tenn., to the late Otto and Susan Bruhn. Art lived in Alaska for the past 63 years. He married his first wife, Lois Danforth, in the 1960s in Fairbanks. Art was a teacher and helped shaped the lives of many. He was a member of Amnesty International, Alaska Peace Center and board member of Bread Line, Inc., Fairbanks Community Food Bank and the North Star Council on Aging. He was a charter member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fairbanks. 
He is survived by his wife, Susan L. Bruhn, of Fairbanks; daughter, Karla Danforth, of Ore.; Bonnie Bruhn, of Fairbanks; son, David Bruhn, of Honolulu, Hawaii; brothers, Billy Bruhn, of Portland, Ore.; Otto "Buddy" Bruhn, of Tenn.; and sister-in-law, Martha Bruhn.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his brother, Taylor Bruhn; sister, Windsor Mae Adams; and sister-in-law, Jimmie Bruhn.
The family suggests donations be made to the North Star Council on Aging, in Remembrance of Art Bruhn, 1424 Moore Street, Fairbanks, AK 99701.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
