G. Lynne Franklin(1942 - 2013)

G. Lynne Franklin, 71, of Fairbanks, was taken from our lives Nov. 11, 2013, leaving behind many happy memories with family and friends. 
Lynne was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Aug. 8, 1942, to the late Irene and Harry Elliott. After graduation, Lynne moved to Florida where she worked at Cape Kennedy Space Center for a few years. 
Lynne then came to Alaska where she met and married Terry Franklin and raised two sons, Curt and Chad. Lynne worked for attorneys and D.O.T., retiring about 10 years ago. She leaves behind her place of business, "Oasis Bar and Lounge," and many loyal employees and customers. 
She was a great hockey mom and grandmother. Lynne played softball in her younger years and was later involved with bowling and bunko. She enjoyed "Ollie," her favorite furry companion for the last seven years. Lynne will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.
Lynne is survived by her sons, Curt (Sanny) Franklin, of Fairbanks; Chad (Mary) Franklin, of Fairbanks; grandchildren, Cierra (Drew) Glaeser, of Fondulac, Wisc.; Chayse, Chance, Blaine, Alex (Lilly), Emily, Anthony, and Makayla, all of Fairbanks; great-grandchildren, Madison, Ashton, of Fondulac, Wisc.; and Aria, of Fairbanks; sister, Shirley (Ron) Franklin, of Fairbanks; brother, Gordon (Joan) Elliott, of Vancouver, B.C.; nieces, Elizabeth (Clark), Kim (Kevin), Katie (James); nephews, Michael (Yvette), Kevin (Lisa); great-nieces and nephews, Michelle (Matt), Jake, Scott, Lauren, Christie, Brendan, Quinn, Jacquelyn, Hayley, Emily, and Alyssa, all of  Vancouver, B.C.; step-sons, Scott (Jan) Schmitz, Mike (Amy) Schmitz; step-grandchildren, Tanner (Amanda), and Andy (Sabrina), all of New Port Richey, Fla.; step-great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Amila.
In addition to her parents, Lynne was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Franklin.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Pioneer Park Civic Center, 2300 Airport Way, Fairbanks, Alaska 99701. A viewing will be held before the service from noon to 2 p.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fairbanks Funeral Home.
