Jane Connolly, 50, of Fairbanks, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born to the late John and Evelyn Connolly, on Jan. 27, 1964, in New York, N.Y. Jane was raised in Hazlet, N.J., before relocating to Fairbanks in 1993. Jane graduated from Raritan High School in 1982 and attended the Barbizon School for modeling. After living in Fairbanks for 12 years, Jane relocated to Anchorage for seven years and had moved back to Fairbanks a year ago.
Jane was the owner-operator of Emma Jane Models and Photography. Her interest included family, friends, photography, New York fashion and adventure. She would often state that her proudest achievements were her children, Quinn and Emma. Her favorite place to spend time with family and friends was Denali National Park. She lived a simple life and would often claim she was a minimalist. She would be the first to say "don't mourn my loss but instead remember my presence." She will be dearly missed.
Jane is survived by two children, Emma Johnstone, of Fairbanks, and Quinn Benefield, of Anchorage; brothers, John Connolly, of Millstone Township, N.J.; Kevin Connolly, of Mt. Holly, N.J.; and sisters, Gaynor McNeely, of Eatontown, N.J.; and Cathy Allison, of Belmar, N.J.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Evelyn Connolly; brothers, Randall McNeely and Wayne McNeely, and sister, Clarise Green.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Fairbanks Funeral Home, 3704 Erickson Ave., in Fairbanks, with Chaplain David Rumph officiating.
