Jeanette Evans(1939 - 2014)

Jeanette Evans, born in Albany, Minn., on Oct. 25, 1939, passed away while her family was by her side Feb. 23, 2014.
Jeanette was a loving soulmate, mother and friend. She lived in Alaska for 51 years. Jeanette is survived by her two sons, Allen and Scott; two daughters, Cindy and Debbie; six grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Rigel, Satya, Eligah and Mark; and two great-grandchildren, Nyssa and Giovanni.
When she wasn't feeling the greatest, she would still do what she could to help out her veterans and the community. Jeanette was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Aux Post 3629 and the Eagles Aeries 1037 and also a member of American Legion Post 11, where she held numerous positions. Jeanette had a passion for gardening, canning, baking and listening to her wind chimes.

Viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. March 8 at Chapel of Chimes. There will be a potluck starting at 5 p.m. at the Elks Club. All are invited to attend. No flowers; instead, make a donation to VFW 3629 Ladies Aux at McKinley account No. 0018510973 or Jeanette Evans donation fund.
