Sandra Bellmay went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2013. Sandra, 70, of North Pole, died at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Sandy was born Nov. 5, 1942, in Hastings, Neb., to William and Evelyn Veach.
Sandy grew up in Colorado. She met her first husband in Cheyenne, Wyo.; they married and had a daughter and son. She came to Alaska in June 1970 when her husband was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base. The marriage ended in divorce in 1983. A couple of years later, she met Edward Bellmay; they married and have been soulmates for 26 years.
Sandy belonged to several organizations and was Santa Seniors' first secretary for 10 years. She retired from Santa Senior Corp., and was a foster grandparent at North Pole Elementary for several years until she had to resign because of health reasons.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; and daughter, Tricia and Dave Fogarty; her son, Jim Medsker, from Anchorage; her grandson, Shaun and Lynn Fogarty, of Colordao; stepchildren, Kathy Bellmay, Beth Bellmay, Susan and Tim Roiser, all of Fairbanks; David and Wanda Bellmay, of Houston, Alaska; Jimmy Bellmay, of Fairbanks; and many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Charmaine Veach.
