During his 50 years in Alaska, he served honorably in the National Guard and worked as a school teacher, surveyor, mechanic and telecommunications journeyman, retiring from the IBEW.
His passion for restoring things old and rusty, and interests in history and geology made for many memorable friendships.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Birch Hill Cemetery. A dinner will follow at the home of his brother, Bruce, at 5120 Decathlon Dr.
