Donald Albert Toussaint, age 90, passed away April 9, 2014, in Troutdale, Oregon. Don was born in Harvey, North Dakota, the 10th child of Elizabeth LeTournis Toussaint and Dominick Toussaint.

He went to high school in Minot, North Dakota, and joined the U.S. Navy when he was 18. He became a pilot and served as a lieutenant juinor grade in the Navy until 1946. Then he flew as a bush pilot with his brother, Ed Toussaint, from Fort Yukon.
He met Wilda Schonbrod in Fairbanks and they were married in 1950. He then worked for several years with City Electric. Wilda and Don left Fairbanks in 1964. They lived in McMinnville, Oregon, until 1970 when they moved to Portland, Oregon. Don worked for Grasle Electric Company until his retirement in the 1990s.
After retirement, the Toussaints moved to Harney County, outside Burns, Oregon, where they enjoyed wide open spaces and unobstructed views for miles around.
Don was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2002, from which he recovered. In 2011, they moved back to the Portland area to be nearer their children, eventually settling in a retirement community in Troutdale.
Don is remembered for his beautiful tenor voice which he shared with audiences in church and in public wherever he lived. Don is survived by his wife, Wilda; four sons, three daughters, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral Mass will be held at noon Friday May 9, at Saint Henry's Church in Gresham, Oregon. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
