Harley D. Adamson Obituary
Harley D. Adamson departed this life June 8, 2012, in Greenwood, S.C., at Self Hospital at age 79.
Born in Clark, S.D., and reared in Minneapolis, Minn. He attended Moody Bible Institute, graduated from Sterling College in Kansas, receiving a masters degree in physics and chemistry from the University of Washington. He taught physics and chemistry and coached wrestling in Fairbanks, where he lived for 41 years. He went into private business and operating several businesses including four book stores and an Attorneys Service Bureau.
He is survived by a loving family and many friends including wife Nickie Adamson; children Eric Adamson and Karen, Kevin and Linda Adamson, Denise and Gary Agan, Lisa and Jon Lumijarvi; stepdaughters Terri and George Worledge, and Deze and Billy Copeland; grandchildren Erika Clouse, Rachel and Paul Strickland, Ben and Alex Adamson, Chris and Bryan Worledge, Kyle, Kenneth and Devan Copeland, and Jessie and Adam Culpepper; and great-grandchildren Emma and Scarlett Strickland.
Harley was active in ice hockey, football, softball, tennis, canoeing, back country tracking and golf. Harley loved skiing and was director of the National Ski Patrol for Alaska for four years. He was a member of Kiwanis, Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce
Harley and Nickie moved to Savannah Lakes Village in 2002. He organized senior softball, played tennis and golf, worked with the Discussion Group, library, Chamber of Commerce, the MACK and many more groups in the village.
Harley loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.
