Kurtis Dale "Kurt" Nash Obituary
Kurtis (Kurt) Dale Nash was born March 29, 1985, in Fairbanks. On Feb.  22, 2014, our beloved Kurt was taken from this earth way too soon.
Kurt lived his entire life in Fairbanks and graduated from Lathrop High School. While growing up he played baseball, hockey and soccer. Most of all he loved the outdoors. His weekends and spare time were often spent at one of his family's cabins fishing, boating, swimming and relaxing.
Kurt was the most kind-hearted and loving person. He never met a stranger and shared his infectious smile with everyone. He held his family above all else and his nieces were the world to him as he was a kid at heart himself.
Two years ago, he was accepted into the Sprinkler Fitters Union and began his professional career. Kurt loved hard work and never shied away from lending a helping hand. His family affectionately called him "lucky" because being the youngest sibling he was always given the chores no one else wanted to do. Kurt touched so many lives during his short time and he will be missed by many.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Shirley Nash; his uncle, James Nash, and cousins, Michelle and Juan Lopez.
He is survived by his sister, Tammy Axelsson, and brother-in-law, Hans Axelsson; brother, Chris Nash, and sister-in-law, Mechelle Nash; stepmother Jill Nash; stepsister, Tina Garrett, and her fiancé, Jason Carroll; nieces, Hannah, Emma, Annika and Maggie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the country.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at the Elks Lodge, 1003 Pioneer Road, in Fairbanks.
