Mark Anthony Taaffe, 37, passed away March 25, 2013, in Fairbanks, from liver disease.

Mark was born May 20, 1975, in Fairbanks and attended Lathrop High School and the University of Alaska.
Mark did a variety of jobs in the community including at The Rag Company and Summer Arts Festival.
He started volunteer work early, teaching First Aid and CPR at the Red Cross, and coaching at Special Olympics. Mark did finish carpentry work, and he and his buddies have built many fine homes in Fairbanks. He also enjoyed his time working for Kennicott River Lodge. But his favorite pastime was working with Jo and Dick Scott on their property.
Mark loved outdoor sports - rock climbing, skiing, sailing and canoeing with his friends.
Mark will be forever missed by his family and friends. His humor, caring and love for us enriched our lives.
Mark is survived by his father, James Taaffe III; his mother, Elizabeth Barlow; and his sister, Rena Riley; all of Fairbanks.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday April 6, 2013, at Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home. Joe Carlson will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.
