Mary Catherine Beall, 83, of Fairbanks, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Denali Center.|
Mary was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Huntington, W. Va., to Homer and Ethal Craig. After spending 22 years there, Mary moved to Alaska with her sons.
She started her employment, at places like the Model Café, to support her two sons, and later was employed as a city of Fairbanks dispatcher.
Mary was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Fairbanks Golf and Country Club. After she retired, she picked up bowling and bowled on many teams. She became a grandmother in her early fifties and was devoted to them.
Her family said, "Mary gave her love freely to all those she knew and touched so many lives. She will be missed and always loved. She will live on in the memories of all those touched by her amazing soul."
The family wishes to thank all of Mary's doctors and the wonderful staff at Denali Center, for her care.
Mary is survived by her son, Gary Moore and daughter-in-law, Susan Moore; grandson, Brandon Moore; and granddaughter, Ashley Moore; all of who are of Fairbanks. She was preceded in death by her son, James Moore; and her parents, Homar and Ethal Craig.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Elks Lodge Antler Room. The service will be officiated by Linda Swindel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Denali Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home.
