Former Alaska resident Catherine Hendrickson, 59, of Bemidji, Minn., died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, Minn.|
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Solway Bible Chapel with Pastor Brad Spaulding officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Catherine Louise Ewert was born July 20, 1952, to Dan and Gwen Ewert in Bemidji.
She grew up in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1970. She attended Oak Hills Bible College. Cathie then worked at Gibson Department Store. On Sept. 22, 1973, she married Clifford Hendrickson in Solway Log Chapel. They moved to Fairbanks, then to Church's Ferry, N.D., Fairbanks, and then Central, where they operated Central Electric until 2003 when Clifford died.
Catherine moved back to Bemidji to be with family and friends. She was a prayer warrior and active member of the Solway Bible Chapel where she taught Sunday School for many years. Cathie enjoyed playing the cello and piano. She also enjoyed snowmachining, four wheeling, fishing and being with her dogs Ruger I and II.
She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Gwen Ewert, of Bemidji; brother Dan (Darcie) Ewert, of Lake Park, Minn.; sister Ruth Ann Ewert, of Fosston, Minn.; nieces Heather and Megan Ewert; and nephew Brett Wawers.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two nieces, Sara and Kristin Ewert.
